Diocese of Lansing: accused clergy and the Attorney General's report

Last checked: 15 October 2026

The Diocese of Lansing publishes its own list of 23 people it considers credibly accused. The Michigan Attorney General's report on the diocese, released 16 December 2024, names 56 people. The report does not decide whether the allegations are credible.

About the diocese's list

The Diocese of Lansing counts an allegation as credible if the bishop, with its review board, found it credible, or if it led to an admission, a criminal conviction, removal from ministry or laicization, or a civil settlement. The list was first published on 27 September 2019.

The Attorney General's report

Released 16 December 2024. It names 56 people. Read the report (PDF on michigan.gov).

The Attorney General's page says:

It is important to note that a criminal charge is merely an allegation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. It is also important to note that the inclusion in this report does not reflect a determination by the Department that the allegations are credible or otherwise substantiated or indicative of a crime.

Names on the official lists

This table lists everyone named on the Diocese of Lansing's own list or in the Attorney General's report on the diocese, as they are named there. 23 are on the diocese's own list. Being named in the Attorney General's report alone is not a finding that an allegation is credible.
