Contingency fees in Michigan
Many personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee, which means they are paid a share of any money recovered. Michigan Court Rule 8.121 sets the maximum contingency fee in personal injury and wrongful death claims at one third of the amount recovered, worked out after deducting the costs of the case.
