Diocese of Marquette: accused clergy and the Attorney General's report

Last checked: 15 October 2026

The Diocese of Marquette publishes its own list of 28 people it considers credibly accused. The Michigan Attorney General's report on the diocese, released 27 October 2022, names 44 people. The report does not decide whether the allegations are credible.

About the diocese's list

The Diocese of Marquette lists priests who served in the diocese and have been permanently removed from all public ministry, or would be if they were alive, under the church's charter and norms on abuse of minors.

The Attorney General's report

Released 27 October 2022 (summary revised 20 May 2024, three entries revised 25 June 2026). It names 44 people. Read the report (PDF on michigan.gov).

The Attorney General's page says:

It is important to note that a criminal charge is merely an allegation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. It is also important to note that the inclusion in this report does not reflect a determination by the Department that the allegations are credible or otherwise substantiated or indicative of a crime.

Names on the official lists

This table lists everyone named on the Diocese of Marquette's own list or in the Attorney General's report on the diocese, as they are named there. 28 are on the diocese's own list. Being named in the Attorney General's report alone is not a finding that an allegation is credible.
